Viseart Blush & Contour Palettes Review

One of my favorite cosmetics companies is Viseart. It is a professional line of makeup that comes to us from Paris, France and, until a short while ago, wasn’t available to us common folk. What the brand is most famous for, until recently, are the eyeshadow palettes. I own two of them and OH MY GOSH, are they heavenly. In my collection are the 04 dark matte palette and the 07 cool matte palettes. They are gorgeous.

The eyeshadows themselves are pigmented, buttery, and practically blend themselves. They come with a hefty price tag, but in my opinion they are worth every penny. Especially if you are just starting out with makeup and you really don’t know how to blend and what to do when it comes to your eyeshadow. The shadows will do the job for you. I always reach for either of the palettes when I don’t know what to do on my eyes, or I’m in a hurry but I still want to look amazing. They have NEVER let me down.

This is why, when Viseart announced that they are coming out with blush and contour palettes, I was over the moon excited. Like jumping on the couch on Oprah kind of happy…I get my Viseart fix on Beautylish and me and Daria ordered our palettes the first minute they became available…The palette I ordered was number 3 Orange Violet. It came in the standard Viseart Package, which is just a dark grey brown cardboard box for the outer packaging and a plastic container that housed the blushes

There are six blushes in all, three orange tones and three pinky violet tones. The first orange tone is a light one, very reminiscent of a pumpkin. The second is a rusty orange and the third is a true orange. For the violet side we have a light pink blush, a pink that is a bit darker in color, and a dark violet almost maroon shade.

The blushes are very, VERY pigmented. Unfortunately, that is where the semi positive review ends. Due to the fact that the product is so rich in pigment, it is nearly impossible to get a normal amount of color on your cheek. Even with the lightest touch of the brush to the bush, I still picked up so much product that I ended up looking like I am attending clown school. Also, the blush is impossible to blend out evenly.

I stood there for close to 7 minutes trying to blend it and I still ended up with patchiness on my skin. There is also a lot of kick up. Like I said, I only lightly dabbed the blush with my blush brush (and I tried 3 different brushes) and there was powder all over the container.

I thought to purchase another palette and try out the colors there, but Daria did it for me. She went for the Rose Coral 02 palette which includes three pink shades and three coral ones. The first shade in the palette is a light cool toned pink, the second in the pink range is a pinky violet, and the third is a straight up violet. On the coral side we have a very light peach colored blush, a deeper coral, and a dark coral that is almost red in tone.

The colors in this palette are very beautiful. Unfortunately, Daria had the exact same experience with the product as I did. Too pigmented, hard to blend and very powdery. Overall, these blushes were an epic fail for us. We were both sadly disappointed and ended up sending the palettes back. Neither of us will be purchasing another blush palette, however, I do love my eyeshadows from Viseart and will continue to use them. In fact, I am determined to collect them all!

XO,

Sasha
