Makeup Haul

So the holidays are over and it’s time to get back to life. Over the past few weeks both Daria and I did a lot of damage in the makeup department and today I will share what I got.

I will begin with the face. I have purchased two new primers to try out and they are NYX Angel Veil and Pores No More pore refining primer by Dr. Brandt. I have used these primers for a week and I have to say that this combination is amazing. I first put on the Angel veil all over my face and follow that up with Pores No More only on the areas where my pores are super large. I am absolutely obsessed! My pores are filled in and barely visible and my oils are kept at bay. What more can you ask for?

Last month I went HAM on blush. I have the Tarte holiday blush set that comes with a brush, the NARS Unfiltered 1 palette, and the Marc Jacobs Air Blush in 506 Flesh & Fantasy. I love blush, after highlighters blush is my favorite product. The Tarte set comes with four blushes in Pop, Vibrant, Genius and Royal. These are all pretty neutral colors ranging from a light coral to a more bronzy color. This set also comes with a really cool brush (and lets be honest, the whole reason why I got this set was for this brush), which is perfect to use with these blushes, and any others that are highly pigmented. It picks up the perfect amount of color and you can’t over do it on the blush using it. The Nars palette comes with five blushes and one highlighter. You have Watch me, which is the highlighter; Me First, Takeover, Out There, Chic and Exhibit A. There is another palette that came out with another palette with this collection but that one has more pinky blushes and those don’t really look good on me so I decided to forego and get the one that has Exhibit A. And last blush purchase is my Marc Jacobs Air Blush. I was going back and forth for a long time on getting this blush. It’s very expensive and I have a million and a half blushes, but I finally gave in and purchased it. Let me tell you, this blush is so beautiful. It’s super soft and creamy and goes on like a dream. I’m in love and am considering purchasing a few more colors.

There were two eye palettes that I purchased last month, Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette and the Identity Palette by Persona Cosmetics. The Urban decay palette I purchased because it went on sale and I needed to complete my collection. It’s a good palette but nothing special and I would not purchase it if it weren’t on sale. The Identity Palette, however, is beyond amazing. I was hesitant about getting it because I figured I already have all these colors in other palettes, but I’m an addict and I cracked. I’m so glad that I did because this palette is amazing. The shadows are really soft and creamy. They are super easy to blend and there is hardly any fall out. The color selection is amazing and I have been using this palette every day since I purchased it. If you are thinking about [purchasing it, definitely go ahead and do it, you wont regret it! There is another eye product that I got and it’s the Make Up For Ever Star Lit Liquid. It is basically a liquid glitter that you can apply on your eyes or anywhere else where you would want some glow. I got mine in the color 03 which is a peachy gold. This product is just ok. It’s not special at all and I wouldn’t get anymore of these.

I purchased one bronzer and one highlighter this past month and a half and they are the Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion highlighter in 01 and the Baked Bronzer in 05 Soleil by Milani. There is not much to say about these products except for the fact that they are great. We already know that I love the MUFE highlighter in 02, which is a gold one, so it should come as no surprise that I am obsessed in 01. This one has a pinky opalescent hue to it and performs just as well as the gold one. The bronzer by Milani reminds me of the Hourglass bronzers in the since that the color is the same and it also has a bit of a glow. It looks beautiful on the face and if the Hourglass is a bit too pricey, like it is for me, try the Milani bronzers.

Last but not least, I have acquired three new lip products. I little while ago I was on a dark brown kick. I really wanted the Smashbox liquid lipstick in True Grit, but the Sephora I was in was sold out of it. So, I went all around and tried many different dark colored lipsticks. Most of the dark lipsticks are not really a brown but more of a dark ox blood type of a color and it was surprisingly difficult to find one that would meet my criteria. However, I purchased two that come very close and they are Piaf by KVD and Cocoa Multistick by Bite. Piaf is a beautiful dark brown lipstick with a little bit of purple glitter in it and Cocoa is a true cocoa brown. I am happy with this lipstick but I am still going to purchase the Smashbox True Grit because that brown is just to die for. The last lipstick I got is Kim K W by Charlotte Tilbury. It’s a pinky nude and it’s a perfect every day color.

Phew, that’s a lot of makeup. These are all the purchases I have made over the past month and a half. I hope you enjoyed reading about them and have decided to get a lil’ something for your self.
