Luba’s Makeup Tutorial

It is almost time for those New Years Eve parties and that means NYE makeup. Usually, when one thinks of NYE makeup, they think of glitter so, when my beautiful friend needed her makeup done for a holiday event, that’s exactly what I did.

After I prepped her face with my favorite CeraVe moisturizer and Becca Backlight Priming Filter, I moved on to the eyes. Whenever I work with glitter, I prefer to start with the eyes because, well, fallout. The eyes were primed with a Mac Paint Pot in Painterly and the crease was defined with Mac Soft Brown. After I blended out the Soft Brown, I proceeded to outline her eye’s outer v with a deeper brown called Cork, also by Mac’s. I deepened the outer v using Mac’s Embark.

To fill in the lid space and prep it for glitter, I used Angelic from Huda Beauty’s Rose Gold Palette. I applied it to the whole lid and blended it out with the brush I used for Soft Brown to make sure there are no harsh edges. Since it was a holiday party look, my friend asked for glitter. The one that I used is called Reigning Riches and it’s a glitter that came out in a Mac Holiday set last year. To make the glitter adhere to the lid, I used glitter glue by Lit Cosmetics.

The top lid was complete and it was time to move on to the face. For foundation I used Mac’s Pro Longwear Foundation in NC15. For under the eyes I used Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer in Fair and I set that with Nars’s Light Reflecting Pressed powder. The face was set with Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder in Translucent. I proceeded to slightly contour and bronze her face up with a Make Up For Ever bronzer that is, unfortunately, discontinued. For blush I used Rockateur by Benefit and for highlight I used Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter in 2 Golden.

To finish up the eyes, I ran Mac’s Costa Riche in the water line and tight line and slightly smoked out the under eye with a little of Cork. I then applied Benefit’s They’re Real mascara to the top and Bottom Lashes and added some drama with Iconic Lashes from House of Lashes.

For the lips I used a combination of Charlotte Tilbury’s Hot Lips lipstick in Kim K.W. and Mac’s Myth. For a little shine, I topped that off with Mac’s gloss in Oyster Girl. After that the look was complete. I just sprayed a little bit of Mac’s Fix+ and Voila!
