Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation Review

On my recent trip to Sephora, I purchased a Lancôme foundation on a whim. I came in to return a few things that did not work out for me and, since I couldn’t walk out empty handed and there was nothing new that I wanted to try, I grabbed the Lancôme Teint Idole Utra Longwear Cushion Foundation SPF 50.

Honestly, I had very low expectations for this product. I’m not really a Lancôme girl and, in general, I am not a big fan of cushion foundations. In the past, they have never worked for me. Though, I must admit, I haven’t tried many. The ones that I have tried seemed to always disappear off of my face in an hour or two and didn’t really cover anything well. I don’t expect much coverage out of a cushion foundation, but at least to even out skin tone, and they didn’t even do that.

However, this foundation has changed my life! First of all, the color, I am in 140 Ivoire (N), matches me perfectly. I have never had a foundation that matches my skin to the T. It’s always either a bit too dark, or a bit too light and I always have to do something extra to even my face and neck out. Lancôme is a perfect match. Even the undertone, is perfect and, it is a big AND, it doesn’t turn pink on me! Words cannot express how happy that makes me. Every single foundation that I have EVER tried, turns pink on my skin. Whether it’s a slight change or a big one, there is always a change. Not with Lancôme. It does, however, oxidize slightly, very slightly, not significantly enough to make a difference at all. The color even looks better on when it turns slightly darker.

Now let’s talk about the way this foundation covers. It is a light to medium coverage but I was able to build it up to where it was on the higher end of the spectrum of medium. The foundation has a satin finish. It’s not fully dewy, though I do notice a little glow on my skin after I have applied it. You do have to set it with a little powder, which I do anyway no matter what foundation I am using. On me this foundation lasts well over six hours and my oils don’t melt it off of my face. I noticed that I do get a bit shiny after about four to five hours, but not to the point where I have to blot.

Over all, I can say that I am in love with this foundation. I have found my HG product and I will be sticking with it. In fact, I am so impressed with Lancôme, that I am now going to go out and try all the foundations that the company has to offer. I will be reviewing so stay tuned!

XO,

Sasha
