Gunmetal Stack Melt Cosmetics Review

I am one of those people that likes to “collect” all the new releases of a product that a cosmetics company does. For example, I own all of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I happen to use only one, the original, but I must have them all. I do not feel complete if I don’t. So, due to this bit of OCD, I decided that I must have the new Gunmetal Stack from Melt cosmetics. I own all the other stacks from this company, and I love them all.

The Gunmetal Stack comes packaged just like all the other stacks. There are four pans, each containing 2.60g/0.09oz of product and they are held together by magnets (which is really cool because you are able to combine and mix and match the pans from any other stack that you may have. I do it all the time). The price of this particular stack is $48, which is a lot for only four shadows but, when you consider that these products are not tested on animals and are paraben and gluten free, it makes sense.

Also, a lot of their products are vegan, score! The box that it comes in is a beautiful sparkly grey and the Melt girls always include a special trinket in the shipping box for you. I have received stickers of lips in their lipstick colors and, this time around, I got a really cute lipstick keychain.

As mentioned before, there are four colors in this stack including a fifth piece of the stack that is a mirror. The first color is called Harsh Stone White and it is a beautiful, sparkly, glittery white. It has a very slight hint of a gold in it, but mostly it is white with beautiful micro glitter.

The second color is called Assimilate and it is a matte, stone grey. This shade is a perfect transition color for this stack and I love that the Melt team included it in. You don’t have to go into another palette for a transition color when using this palette. The third color in the stack is called Industrial and it is a very sparkly brown grey with just a hint of a purple. The last shade is a dark, almost black grey that also contains finely milled glitter.

Normally I am not a lover of glitter in my eyeshadow. I feel that it goes everywhere, there isn’t much color pay off, and it just ends up as a big mess all over your face. However, the glitter in these eyeshadows has magical powers. Though there is slight fall out, the shadows themselves are overall not messy.

When you put the product on your eye, the pigmentation is amazing. It is not just glitter that you get, its actual pigment. Also, I know most glitters feel gritty, but not in this case. The shadows are buttery soft and you cannot feel the glitter at all.

This stack, just like all the others form this brand, gets an A+ from me. Definitely worth the investment.

Xoxo,

Sasha
